Die Formation Allman Brothers Band spielte am 12. Und 13. März 1971 im legendären Fillmore East Klub zwei Konzerte, welche später im Jahr als das Live-Doppel-Album herausgebracht wurden, welches für die Band den Durchbruch bedeutete. Das Album gehört zu den bedeutendsten der Musikgeschichte.
Die Fans sind bis heute begeistert von ihrer typischen Mischung aus Blues und Southern Rock mit vielen improvisierten jazzigen Passagen. Damals in Fillmore wurde der Grundstein für den Rum der Allman Brothers gelegt.
