A 30-year study has revealed the long-term impacts of domestic and family violence and a higher prevalence of Endometriosis than first thought.For centuries, studies of human health have focused predominantly on men. Momentum for change began in the 1970s and 80s, through the women's health movement in Australia. It led to the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health, which has been ongoing for 30 years, and is unique internationally. Australian cancer diagnosis rates have increased by around 30 percent since 2000. Now experts and survivors are calling for more funding.In 2024 Mona Thind was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. It's the eighth most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia and it's estimated that one in 70 people will be diagnosed with the disease by the age of 85, according to the Cancer Council.
