After a long hiatus we are back with our 81st show featuring raw food chef and 'uncookbook' author Ani Phyo. Ani describes for us some delectable recipes that will make your mouth water from her new book Ani's Raw Food Desserts: 85 Easy, Delectable Sweets and Treats.We also discuss her recent food demo for Google in their vegan-friendly lunchroom, her journey to raw foodism from her Korean roots, how to eat raw without hours in the kitchen, and of course cyborgs. Also featuring listener feedback and shout outs and the sweet sounds of our featured musician Amanda Rogers.

Our 80th show features Beloved Binge on tour and in the studio with us for an interview and further shenanigans. The Binge are one of our favorite bands, and great vegan activists to boot. They created a documentary called Seeing Through the Fence that "explores the role of food in modern society and our connection, or lack of connection, with both the processes and animals from which our food originates". They also hand out Vegan Outreach literature at college campuses in the towns they play at.During the second half of our show we interview Gary Lowenthal from The Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale, a global fund raising event put on by local groups around the world. Gary tells us how this great idea got off the ground and now involves dozens of groups and locations around the world. Each participating group gets to choose its venue, what to sell, and how it uses the proceeds. A great show that will leave you jonesin' for vegan cupcakes.

Our 79th show is a podcast-only special edition, featuring two pre-recorded interviews. The first is Derek interviewing Billy Hulting, who helps put on the Worldfest in Encino, California. Worldfest is a solar-powered celebration of music, the environment, animals and humanity, with a strong emphasis on veganism. Billy talks about the festival, his vegan activism, and Zappa Plays Zappa, Dweezil Zappa's tribute to the music of his father Frank Zappa. Billy tours with the band as a percussionist. How cool is that? The second interview features Sarah Kramer, bestselling vegan cookbook author and artistic queen of kitch. Jilian, Scott and Derek talk to Sarah via Skype. Sarah tells us about her 2010 Wall Calendar, cookbooks, the Canadian seal hunt, vegan tattoos, kale spines, and wrestling with Isa Chandra Moskowitz.
